City Hotel Hengelo

This place is stunning and far better than the pictures of the outside of the building. The staff were very helpful, rooms are large & very clean with several complimentry snacks. On the day it rained they even lent us a couple of golf umbrellas. But what blew me away on arrival was the plush toy they gave my daughter. The staff member went out the back and brought out a basket of teddies for her to choose from, it made her day!

A well-located, charming and cozy experience in the centre of Hengelo, just 2 minutes by walk from the main train station. Hengelo is in gereal a lovely town, and this hotel makes it so easy to circle around. With it's location nearly in the pure centre, all attractions, shops, coffeeshops, breakfast corners were reachable within up to 9 minutes maximum by walking. Charming authentic location for Christmas time.

From the moment we walked through the door after a very long and frustrating journey, we felt welcomed. Staff were helpful and friendly, our room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. Look forward to our next stay in April

Staying over in Hengelo during the NS train strike, the city hotel was a haven of comfort. Just exit the train station, cross the street, and almost at once you will see the sign to the hotel. The room was very spacious and extremely clean. Also very well equipped, with a desk, seating area, wardrobe with lots of clothes hangars, and tea/coffee making facilities. The 'welcome' gift of some chips & popcorn was a nice touch. The bathroom was along the same standard: separate shower and bath; nice toiletries; large mirror & beauty mirror; hairdryer; tissues. Staying here really helped lower my stress levels and I would certainly stay again, when in Hengelo.

Clean and nicely furnished. Good shower and comfortable beds. Also a gym which my son’s liked.
